Becky Lehoux | Art Queens Society

Becky Lehoux is an Atlanta-based artist and creativity/therapeutic art coach who uses painting as her primary medium. Her paintings are strongly influenced by her life experiences as an abuse survivor and the healing effects of therapeutic art making, along with extensive travel and diverse cultural experiences. Beginning a career in the art world with a BA in Art History, Lehoux interned with the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts and the Dulwich Picture Gallery, London. She then began working with the Orlando Museum of Art, while continuing her studies in photography, oil painting, and psychology. At age 22, her life was sidelined by violence, and she quietly put her passion for visual art to rest. After 20 years of healing, a master’s degree and fulfilling career in early childhood education, work abroad (based in Italy), and starting a family, she once again picked up the paintbrush. She considers each painting an act of empowerment. Her paintings explore themes of power, compassion, military, healing the inner child, physicality and mindfulness in the act of painting, and the connection of color to emotion. As a creative coach, she works with both children and adults, helping them tap into the creative self as a means to heal and develop within the human experience.
