I am an artist/designer who has been creating art and design professionally for over 30 years.

After a career in corporate graphic design that included working in the marketing teams of Arthur Andersen and Peake Printers in the nineties, I became interested in community art and collaborative public art. The next 12 years saw me leading large scale community art projects In Dubai, working with school communities to create murals, mosaics, yarn bombing and other projects that connected people through art.

More recently, I shifted my energy inward, to create a body of individual art pieces that examines what it means to be a woman- an Arab woman in particular - in a post-colonial world. I have found that one way to take ownership of the damaging narrative that is unjustly propagated is to use the universal language of visual art and the vehicle of social media to engage, heal and enlighten.

I passionately believe that art has the power to provoke positive social change, and that artists have the tools and the responsibility to use it as a vehicle for such change.
