Mariana Gómez

Mariana Gómez is a multidisciplinary artist holding an MFA from Pratt Institute, NY, and a Bachelor's in painting from Los Andes University, Bogotá, Colombia. Her art has graced solo and group exhibitions across New York, Bogotá, Tokyo, and London, while major art fairs like Zona MACO, Drawing Room, BARCÚ, and START ART have showcased her pieces in Bogotá, Mexico City, Lisbon, and London.Not confined to her studio, Mariana's foray into cultural management includes pivotal roles in organizing the ARTBO fair, a Latin American art fair phenomenon, and directing Fundación Corazón Verde, where she curated more than 12 impactful exhibitions and auctions dedicated to supporting the Colombian police through art.Currently, Mariana is not only working on her studio practice daily, but she is the driving force behind DAMA, her visionary art gallery in Bogotá. Not just a space for artistic expression, DAMA is Mariana's ode to empowering women artists globally, amplifying their visibility. With her unyielding dedication and boundless creativity, Mariana Gómez emerges not only as an artist but as a trailblazer shaping the future of the art scene.

My art explores the vast world of 21st-century feminism, inspired by its infinite diversity. I express myself through various forms like painting, sculpture, drawing, installation, and embroidery. Every piece of art I create is a journey into the depths of womanhood, sparking dialogue about topics often left in the dark. I strive to challenge societal norms and shed light on the real experiences of women, revealing our bodies, customs, stories, and struggles. I'm like a storyteller, unearthing the layers that women hide due to societal judgments. My art calls for an open conversation about the true nature of women. It's a celebration of our resilience, vulnerability, and complexity. But it's more than just visual; it's an invitation to join me in a brave exploration of femininity, creating a powerful celebration of the many faces of the female gender.
