Marne Meisel

Marne Meisel is an artist and educator based in NYC. She received her BFA in Illustration from School of Visual Arts as well as a MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University Teachers College in 2012. She was selected for a special scholarship to Columbia they were a security guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She is currently part of the visual arts department at Brooklyn High School of the Arts in Brooklyn, NY. She has worked for the New York City Department of Education for the past ten years. She is part of Solas Studio Collective. Her artwork has been shown through Solas Studio, Women's Arts Space, Dab Art, SOHO Renaissance Factory, A.I.R. Gallery, Site: Brooklyn, Macy Gallery, Columbia University, and Metropolitan Museum of Art Employee Art Show. Marne Meisel also makes one of a kind pieces of jewelry and accessories made from upcycled materials.

New York City-based artist Marne Meisel creates artworks that examine fractured aspects of time and emotions connected to the moments around her. Art processes include marbling paper, cut paper, fabric, photography, acetate layering, paint, and, of course, collage. Concepts involve gender, religion, identity, and sense of place.
