Rachel Le Roux

Rachel Le Roux is a British-Filipina multidisciplinary fine artist and interior architect based in Manila, Philippines. She proudly holds a BA Honours Degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, UK. With over a decade of experience in the local architectural and design industry, Rachel now wholeheartedly embraces her passion as a full-time artist. However, alongside her creative endeavours, Rachel continues to share her design expertise as a freelance interior designer and stylist. In her art practice, she primarily works with pencil and oil on canvas. She intricately weaves body language with fabric to exude feminine fluidity, revealing concealed emotions within each artwork. Rachel's work expressions are a tribute to the allure and intricacies of womanhood and her profound admiration for the female form. Simultaneously, her passion for abstract art finds its place as She breathes life into the remnants of leftover paint from her figurative works, using them to continue to explore the essence of movement within each composition. Through this dualistic approach, she finds a balance that allows continuous growth within her art practice.Rachel's artwork has been featured in online and local group exhibits like the South Arts Festival Art Fair Manila and Leon Gallery Manila. Her work can be found in private collections worldwide and has been featured in multiple publications such as The Huts, Arts To Hearts Project, Clover + Bee, Art Seen and Create Magazine. Furthermore, Rachel expresses herself through her art and as a contributing writer for Women United Arts Magazine, adding her voice to the artistic community.

My creative journey began with a love for pencil and oil on canvas. My pieces often centre around capturing feminine figures in flow or stillness. I explore layers that slowly unravel to become my narrative, telling stories in faces and bodies that do not belong to me.In my most recent series, I capture portraits of women in their suspended moments in time, with an intricate web of stories woven together to celebrate the experiences shaping womanhood. Her presence reveals a range of raw, intimate, and powerful moments. The interplay between her form and the surrounding fabric manifests her inner sensuality. Their strength reminds us of the boundless potential we possess deep within us and the dual nature of womanhood.No matter what I create, I am fascinated by the ever-changing nature of time, which significantly influences my artistic journey. Movement and stillness are essential components that drive my art forward in each collection and series. The concept of duality is essential to me – portraying the way things shift and dance together to create something intertwined with the true essence of who I am. Each collection I create delves into the feminine spirit, capturing the intricate layers that reveal the delicate balance between strength and vulnerability.
