Growing up in a large, blue-collar family, making a living was the norm and being a “starving artist” was out of the question. However, having a very creative mother and father, the DNA and drive were there, and I have always used art as an outlet, whether it be for expression, creation, or as a way to conquer boredom. After having jobs in the financial field that allowed me to make a living, once my children were born I decided to give the starving artist lifestyle an opportunity and started a paper products company when the vast majority of people still wrote paper thank you notes and sent paper invitations for parties. I designed and manufactured the products for years and loved having a job that didn’t deal with the financial markets but one that dealt with the Pantone Color of the Year market. After the pesky Internet took the place of paper, I decided to go back to school for a graduate degree to study drawing and painting, earning a master's degree in Fine Art. A classical training was very important to me since my undergraduate degree is in Art History. And the rest, shall we say, is art history.
